Summer Days at Windsong

A Boomer Poem, inspired by “Saturday In the Park,” by Chicago (1972)

Summer days on our block

Already the end of July

Neighbors all stop and talk

About how fast the year’s going by.

People walking with their dogs

A man carrying mail

Heading toward his home

Everybody’s being friendly

Can you feel it? (Yes, I can!)

I’d been waiting such a long time

For these days.

Sunny days on our block

During the last week of July

Staying cool, taking walks

Before the midday sun gets too high.

People living, really loving

The Active Adult life

Looking toward the Fall

This carefree lifestyle’s changed their world

Can you feel it? (Yes, I can!)

No more waiting for a long time

For sunny days.

Slow, lazy afternoons, spent reading a good book

Breeze blows, ceiling fan goes, in your carefree courtyard nook

Listen Boomers, you love it when neighbors are friends, oh – oh – oh!

Happy days on our block

Enjoying the last week of July.

Happy days on our block

Enjoying the last week of July.

People laughing, neighbors greeting

A real celebration! Living life with ease.

We all love our life at Windsong – Where Life is a Breeze!
