From the perspective of homeowners, Cynthia and Steve Lovell I rarely saw neighbors outside at my quad condo community; it felt like the people there were hermits. But I had purchased this condo about 4 years ago and wasn’t really looking to move. Then Steve and I married in September of 2012 and when we found Bel-Aire, a door opened. When we learned that Bel-Aire was a youthful and social neighborhood, we started to seriously consider moving. In fact it was the neighbors who really sold us on this community, many of whom we met before moving in - what a genuinely delightful group of folks! Originally we were interested in a Stratton in the Hillside section; the plan with the private casita and courtyard is a great layout. But then we saw the Monterey that was built on Parkside and move-in ready. We liked the fact that our neighbors across the street were on the other side of the park — offering a spacious and private view. We really liked the open floor plan of the Monterey and how it perfectly suited our needs. There is a lot of area upstairs for finishing, which is what Steve is doing to create a display room for his 40,000+ dye cast car collection. We were one of the first to have a screened patio which we love and use daily. We have commenced landscaping the backyard with trees, flowers and ground cover, and look forward to the view from our patio when that is complete. Windsong did a great job with construction and any concerns we had were dealt with quickly. We’ve only had a few small cosmetic things while under warranty and are very satisfied with Windsong’s responsiveness. Our dog Roxie is exceedingly happy here and loves her walks through the large park area, and running with neighbor dogs in the newly opened dog park. Folks here like to stroll and at times stop by to visit when we’re enjoying the evenings on our front porch. We love the preserved and functional natural beauty of Bel-Aire. The park is practically our front yard, there are nature trails and a creek in the woods; we love the wooded areas built into the design of the community. My husband is into gardening and was the first to start a community garden plot and a private garden plot in the community gardens that are right across the street in the park. Steve is growing tomatoes, radishes, sweet corn, bell peppers, green beans, basil and cilantro. We just love the flavor of home grown veggies and it is nice that this area is offered to the residents. There are always events and socials happening that you can jump into when you feel like it. We have an extremely good turnout for our community events and organize local and regional trips, monthly ladies luncheons, tours and more. Soon, the bocce ball court on the Hillside will open for us to play on with friends and we are looking forward to the clubhouse opening later this year. I have to admit that I am surprised and delighted that this community is everything Windsong boasts. I am having the time of my life and have never enjoyed living in a community like this. Fun is on the docket every day and we couldn’t be happier. Thank you Windsong.
