Active Adult Seasonal “To-Do” List Leaves Time for Fun

With high pollen counts (and drifts of yellow powder on every surface), it seems likely that we’ve seen the last of winter weather for this half of 2021: SPRING has officially arrived in Georgia!

The change of season heralds the “to-do” list that is literally named for it: Spring Cleaning. But Windsong homeowners can smile and look forward to their shorter task list, which means plenty of time for enjoying hobbies and getting together with friends and family for outdoor gatherings.

• Change the batteries in smoke detectors and CO2 detectors, and test the equipment
• Vacuum refrigerator coils to ensure optimum efficiency
• Check fire extinguishers
• Clean the range hood and clean the filter
• Change appliance bulbs, as necessary
• Check the furnace/air filters; clean or replace, as needed
• Change the water filters in refrigerators/ice makers and free-standing water filters, as necessary
• Flush the kitchen drain/disposal with a mixture of vinegar and baking soda

With longer, brighter days, many homeowners also take this time to rearrange furniture, vacuum baseboards, and deep-clean areas such as under the sofa, where dust bunnies like to accumulate during the winter months.

Updating the look of every room is easy, too, by moving or switching artwork and accessories to reflect the mood – and temperature – of the season.

While checking the home’s exterior – roof, gutters, windows, porches, and sidewalks, as well as shrubs, trees, and lawn – Windsong homeowners can smile and relax in the knowledge that their home is built with long-lasting, quality materials, and common areas – including front yards – are professionally maintained as one of their home’s amenities.
