As the Director of Development, John Tatum oversees the land development process from acquisition to bond release. He utilizes 34 years of experience in civil construction development to ensure that the development team is creating communities that meet Windsong’s standards of excellence.
John’s extensive background as a site contractor and operations director positions him to have the perspective needed to help Windsong produce communities known for their natural beauty. A finished Windsong community requires thoughtfulness on the side of land development in areas such as grading, paving, and the placement of utilities. John’s contractor and management experience position him to direct the people and processes to produce properties that meet the unique needs and desires of active adult homebuyers.
John is originally from Georgia but has spent a significant part of his professional career working in the greater Washington, D.C., area. He is certified as a Master of Project Management through the American Academy of Project Management. John has held general contractor licenses in nine southeastern states and received an education degree from George Mason University.
As a former collegiate football player, John is an avid football fan who roots for the Georgia Bulldogs. He is married and enjoys fishing, hunting, and traveling.
