Staff Biographies
Steve Romeyn
Steve Romeyn has spent the last 30 years in Residential Development
and Homebuilding in the metro Atlanta area, and brings a wealth of
experience to the Active Adult communities market.
As co-founder and co-owner of Windsong Properties and Wintergreen
Development, Steve handles the design, sales and process improvement
for the company. He regularly meets with customers to ensure that they
receive the stylish, sophisticated homes and communities they are
seeking.
He enjoys getting to know Windsong Properties customers throughout
the sales and building process, and designing homes to meet their
specifications and desires. He is proud when customers tell him how
much they love Windsong Properties communities, and their new homes.
Steve and his wife, Carlyn, are enjoying their own Active Adult lifestyle as the parents of two grown daughters.
Mark Carruth
Windsong Properties Co-Owner Mark Carruth is a third-generation
homebuilder with more than three decades of construction management
experience, including a “residential light company” license in Georgia
and “unlimited residential” license in North Carolina.
He spent nine years with Carruth Homes, and has been the owner of Loren
Construction Company for 31 years. A Certified Professional
Homebuilder, Mark co-founded Windsong Properties and enjoys being part
of a team of motivated, talented individuals who are dedicated to
meeting the needs of Windsong’s Active Adult customers, and who have a
passion for the jobs they do.
Mark’s passion is building quality homes and creating long-term customer relationships with Windsong home buyers.
Empty-nesters themselves, Mark and his wife have lived in the north
Metro Atlanta area for 31 years, and are the parents of two grown
children.
Carrie Roeger

Carrie Roeger is the Marketing
Director for Windsong Properties. Working behind the scenes is her
specialty, although home buyers will often meet her at special events.
After spending 5 years on active duty as a United States Marine, Carrie attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where she earned a Bachelors degree in Finance. She brings more than 9 years of office experience in
commercial and residential construction to Windsong Properties.
Carrie enjoys working with Windsong’s team of individuals who have a
passion for providing quality housing for the Active Adult home buyer
niche. She lends her talents to Windsong by addressing the changes and
challenges of a young, growing company.
In her spare time, Carrie enjoys riding her motorcycle in the North
Georgia mountains, and spending time with her husband, Ralph, and their
daughter.
James (Jimmy) Coxe

James (Jimmy) Coxe has 30 years of residential construction experience, and has spent 29 of those years in north Metro Atlanta.
As a Windsong Properties Builder, Jimmy says he most enjoys meeting
with homebuyers whenever they want to discuss the construction of their
new home.
Jimmy can show you how a Windsong Properties home is built to allow
you to enjoy the comfort and peace of mind you deserve with your new
Active Adult Lifestyle.
James Tillman
Homeowners and buyers can often find Purchasing and Estimating Manager James Tillman walking through homesites in the various Windsong communities, where he spends much of his time each week reviewing materials and following the progress of construction.
With a career in the construction industry, James moved to Atlanta in 2002. He has worked for Lennar, DR Horton and Venture Homes, and brings more than a decade's worth of knowledge and experience to Windsong Properties.
James enjoys the opportunity to learn something new every day, and finds it rewarding to be a part of creating homes and communities that Windsong homeowners enjoy and are proud of.
James enjoys spending time with his wife, Bonny, and their daughter, Remy.
Joyce Schell
Joyce Schell is a Lifestyle Consultant with Windsong Properties who works with home buyers at Somerset, Windsong at Seven Hills and the Villas at Blackberry Run communities.
An Active Adult herself, who has lived in the metro Atlanta area for more than two decades, Joyce understands the importance of being close to family, as well as surrounding herself with the people and things that make her happy.
She is able to take this first-hand experience and assist home buyers understand the benefit of making their new home in a Windsong community, and helping them plan the next chapter of their lives.
Joyce has three grown children and four grandchildren, and looks forward to helping you decide which Windsong community is right for you!
Kris Johnson
Kris Johnson is your Realtor and Lifestyle Counselor at Windsong’s Seven Hills community in Paulding County.
A graduate of the University of West Georgia, Kris has lived in Northwest Cobb County for more than 22 years with her husband and two children. As a resident of Cobb County, Kris can easily convey the benefits of living in a Windsong community in Northwest Atlanta.
Working with Active Adult homebuyers, Kris enjoys meeting people and developing a working relationship with folks to make the process from sale through post-closing a positive experience.

Lauren Merritt
Lifelong Georgia resident Lauren Merritt grew up in Roswell and earned her business degree from Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama, before returning to the Atlanta area, where she resides with her husband.
As Windsong Properties’ Customer Care Manager, Lauren contacts homeowners who have recently closed on their new homes. She works with them throughout their warranty period to ensure an easy transition to their carefree lifestyle.
Lauren’s goal is a satisfied Windsong Properties customer, and says she enjoys making sure that everyone who buys a home in a Windsong community is a happy homeowner.
Micki Craven
Lifestyle and Sales Consultant Micki Craven has more than 25 years of experience helping Active Adults transition to a Lifestyle Community.
Micki moved to metro Atlanta more than a decade ago to concentrate on introducing the Lifestyle Community concept here.
She finds great satisfaction in the team efforts of all the staff at Windsong Properties and enjoys working with others who share the same integrity and passions for assisting people fulfill their lifestyle needs.
Micki looks forward to meeting Active Adults looking for a new home, assessing their lifestyle and housing needs, and helping them change their lives for the better.
She lives with her husband of 36 years, Roger Craven. They have two grown children and three grandchildren.
Mike Shina
Somerset Project Manager Mike Shina brings the highest level of quality and experience to homes built for Windsong Properties homeowners.
Mike graduated Cum Laude from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and has since pursued continuing education to stay at the forefront of the industry. He is a LEED-accredited Professional (US Green Building Council-Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), as well as a Certified Age in Place Specialist (CAPS) and he earned the 2008 Outstanding Project Manager designation for the EarthCraft House Program.
He enjoys bringing his talent to a forward-thinking company like Windsong, where he is able to build EarthCraft Certified homes that meet very strict design and implementation criteria and are third-party tested for performance.
Mike meets home buyers when they visit Somerset, and holds scheduled meetings with buyers during the construction process, including a Pre-Drywall walk-through and a Pre-Closing Orientation.
Mike has lived in the north Metro Atlanta area for 15 years. He is married with two boys.
Sharon Williams
Windsong Properties Accountant Sharon Williams is a lifelong resident of Cherokee County where she lives with her teenage daughter.
Sharon enjoys the excitement of growing with a young, successful company and addressing new challenges each day.
She looks forward to working with Windsong Properties homeowners when she handles their Homeowners’ Association payments and other accounting matters.
