Despite the nature of the real estate development industry over the past several years, Windsong has maintained relationships with vendors and trade partners to ensure that we could continue to offer the highest quality homes at the best value. Throughout that time, we were able to reduce the number of days it took for us to deliver a home, simply because we had vendors and partners who were at our beck-and-call. Of course, we are grateful that the homebuilding industry is experiencing a significant rebound, but the increased demand for supplies and services — combined with a shortage of skilled professionals who left the building industry in Georgia for a variety of reasons — has had an impact on our construction timelines. For example, two of our vendors and trade partners who were able to fulfill our supply or service orders within a few days over the past few years, now are experiencing a higher demand and have increased our fulfillment time by two weeks. Delays such as these are unavoidable and will likely affect both the completion date and closing date of a home.
